To employ a foreign citizen in accordance with the Legislation of the
Republic of Belarus, it is necessary to obtain a special work permit.
Important!
It is not necessary to obtain special work permit in the following
cases:
in case of hiring citizens of Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and
Russia;
in case of hiring heads of representative offices of foreign
companies in the Republic of Belarus;
in case of hiring foreign citizens permanently residing in the
territory of the Republic of Belarus;
in case of hiring foreign citizens by High Technology Park resident;
in case of hiring workers and employees who are included in the List
of Occupations of Workers and Employee, for which special work
permits are not required.
To obtain a special work permit, the employer of the Republic of
Belarus applies to the Citizenship and Migration Department at his
location (place of residence).
The period for consideration of documents for obtaining a
special work permit for a foreign citizen is 10 days.
It is possible to obtain special work permit only if there is a
positive decision from the Labor, Employment and Social protection
authority.
Special permits are issued upon application by the employer in
the name of a specific foreign citizen.
A special permit may be issued for the following period:
2 years – in relation to highly qualified employees;
1 year – in relation to other employees.
